Halalan 2007
Today, we went out to exercise our right as a true Filipino citizen. We went out to vote for the Senatorial election. Philippine election has always been feared to be chaotic. Public schools were turned into voting polls, with public school teachers mandated to man the polls. I admire teachers who commit themselves for the benefit of all. Come to think of it, they are the most deprived workers here. They have the most noble job and yet our government can’t return the favor of providing them their worth. And still they are the ones who are exposed to this unsafe event. They’re required to be at the polls early morn for preparation. They ignore the heat of the sun to watch over the voters. And not only that, they even stay late at night to count the votes. They do all these hard works to strive for a clean election. I feel for them for one of them is my mother. We may have not much power to change how our election turns out, but we can start by giving credit to those courageous teachers. To all the teachers, we salute you!
